MATERIALS MANAGERThe operation is a discrete manufacturing facility in a build to order environment. The facility is part of a larger operational manufacturing network. The four major functional areas this position will provide leadership for are: plant purchasing, production scheduling, inventory control and shipping/transportation operations.
The facility has recently gone through a transition to a new order configuration and ERP (Oracle) systemLocation: This company is located just outside of State College, PA.Essential Functions / Responsibilities: Manage the production planning and scheduling teams to support the daily plant operations. Responsible to drive a transformation to a forward-looking sales and operations planning team. Work with the production team to develop accurate capacity plans and material forecast to ensure production readiness and customer fulfillment.
Develop inventory strategies to minimize working capital while maintaining customer service levels... and operational efficiencies Oversee the intercompany movements of materials/products to and from the facility to optimize the organizational manufacturing network. Manage the plant purchasing functions with the integration of the corporate commodity strategies.
Coordinate with plant and corporate quality teams to optimize supplier quality. Lead the plant shipping and transportation team to ensure carrier availability as part of a larger corporate carrier network. Achieve targets for distribution costs and customer service levels.
Close coordination with the customer care organization on customer order ship dates based on material availability/lead times, current production schedules and capacities. Review New Product Introductions and Engineering Change Notices and develop plans for a successful integration into the plant operations. Serve as the key plant leader in the maintenance and completeness of system master data and system/process integration.
Interact frequently with sales, marketing, customer care, purchasing and transportation, and manufacturing teams to achieve plant and corporate objectives as the key plant level supply chain leader.Qualifications Minimum 8 years professional experience in discrete manufacturing planning, scheduling, shipping and purchasing. Experience using ERP systems (preferably Oracle). 4 years of leadership experience required.
APICS certification highly desirable. Experience in Sales and Operations Planning and Operational Excellence initiatives highly preferred with demonstrated improvements in key KPI. Proficient skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Demonstrated strong leader and team development skills.Education Bachelors degree with emphasis in Business or Technical field required.Powered by JazzHR
