You will constantly interact with client management and staff regarding computer technology services and equipment issues. Your attitude displayed is a representation of Prelude and our core values, and therefore effective communication skills are required to accurately interpret customer needs and take appropriate action. You must be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a customer-focused environment, manage time and organize work effectively, and be proactive and enthusiastic.
As the Desktop Technician, reporting to the Director of Desktop Support Services, you will be responsible for providing remote and on-site technical assistance to our clients by responding to requests submitted to the IT Service Desk. You will provide technical support for personal computer hardware, application software, operating systems, and connectivity to networks. As the onsite resource, you will assist second level support as needed with installation and basic troubleshooting of infrastructure equipment and servers.
You will need:
- Strong focus on customer service.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in desktop support and configuration.
- Strong skills with the installation, setup, repair, and patching of computers and related peripherals.
- Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- General knowledge of network hardware (switches, routers, UPS) and network fundamentals (TCP/IP)
