Administrative Assistant Patient Intake

What You’ll Do:
· Our Patient Intake admin assistant supports leadership and patient care staff with administrative and scheduling functions. Duties include but are not limited to reception, billing, scheduling, patient intake, inventory, mail, etc.
Responsibilities
· Greets visitors and answers incoming calls from patients, staff, physician offices, referral sources, etc. in a courteous, professional, and timely manner
· Transfers callers to the appropriate person or department; and takes messages when needed and relays messages to the appropriate person in a timely manner
· Prepares envelopes and packages for mail; and distributes incoming mail to the appropriate person or department in a timely manner
· Maintains adequate supply of printed materials for the Prana Pulmonary, medical supplies, and office supplies; and ensures office equipment (i.e., copier/printer) remains in good working order
Qualifications
· High school graduate or GED
· Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience in a healthcare environment
· Sound knowledge of the framework, organization, and function of specialty care including eligibility requirements
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer) with the ability to learn industry specific software applications- EMR experience preferred
· Solid organizational skills, thoroughness, and a keen attention to detail with the ability to multi-task while prioritizing effectively
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment
· Excellent, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
· Professional appearance and demeanor
· Copy/scan documents
· Create and send general correspondence
· Perform additional duties as assigned or required
What You’ll need:
· High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
· Reliable transportation, be graceful and accepting of change, and compassion
Even better if you have...
· Previous administrative experience preferred
· Exemplary organizational skills
· Ability to relate to a diversity of requests
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and situations
· Must be advanced in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Access and Excel
· Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality experience with Hipaa
· Regular attendance is required
