Journeyman Electrician / Solar Installer-Technician

This position will repairs, maintain, and install solar electric (photovoltaic) installations, to include new installations of modules, racking, inverters, and balance of systems, along with maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems. May work in conjunction with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation, and policies are met, and ensure efficient completion of any project in accordance with all standards of building codes and safety. Conduct business in accordance with PPC, Inc. mission and vision statements.

Responsibilities:

Installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and solar electric systems:

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment, for solar arrays/systems, using hand and power tools. Installs, repairs, and maintains solar arrays/systems, motors, transformers, circuits, wiring, and other electrical equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Ensures new work and repairs of existing work adhere to current electrical codes and industry standards.
• Operates a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical and solar system malfunctions.
• Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
• Installs, repairs and maintains solar electric arrays/systems.

Qualifications:

• Solar experience along with NABCEP (North American Certified Energy Practitioner) licensing preferred, however training can be provided to strong candidates.
• Journeyman Certificate and/or Master Electrician License required.
• Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade and solar installations.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Knowledge of electrical application for electrical systems (both AC and DC wiring).
• Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
