Loan Administrative Assistant

Job Description

The position is located in the Bronx, NY. Initially, the position will work remotely. 

Summary:

Responsible for performing various duties to support the lending function; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reviewing and maintaining logs; organizing documents related to loan applications to assure department complies with operating policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications or Skills Required:

A high school diploma or higher with an emphasis in a business curriculum.

A minimum of one (1) year related experience normally required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Clearly communicates in English;
  • Excellent customer service and a team player
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask.
  • Proficient PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to multitask;
  • Ability to organize, prioritize work assignments and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of loan processes preferred;

Essential Functions

1. Orders Loan reports supporting loan processors and Underwriters.

2. Coordinates and orders appraisals, appraisal reviews, and environmental reports..

3. Posts checks to corresponding general ledger accounts and reconcile daily entries.

4. Maintains daily activity of loans, closed, in process, approved, and or denied

5. Updates credit files as necessary; ensures files contain all pertinent information such as borrower financial reports, loan documents and invoices.

6. Assists with HMDA review of all loans with an adverse action.

7. Ensures appropriate interaction and flow of information within the Lending Department and other areas of the Bank, i.e. Loan Servicing and Accounting.

 

Ancillary Functions

1. Assures adherence to Bank policies and procedures and federal and state regulatory requirements.

2. Provides cross-functional support to other areas of the department and the Bank where service or assistance is needed.

3. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

Physical Demands

The physical and related demands described in this section are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job is mostly sedentary in nature, but may occasionally involve lifting files and other materials that weigh up to 20 lbs. Employees in this job must be able to work in an office environment during regular business hours where they come into regular and frequent contact with internal and external customers and other members of the public.
