Software Engineer

Pomp is currently the only platform connecting licensed estheticians with new and existing clients virtually. Pomp is also the only platform that gives estheticians the ability to connect with their clients in a more impactful way by providing them tooling and resources for communication, product recommendations/sales, and more.

Pomp is looking for a Software Engineer to join our development team. The Software Engineer with full-stack experience that will be involved in the daily execution of development of the Pomp platform. We are looking for a skilled javascript developer that is equally comfortable building polished, front-end components and monkeying around with databases, APIs and servers.

Developer Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Lead Developer and development team to discuss strategy and implement development of user interface ideas, applications, and the roadmap.

• Reviewing application requirements and interface designs.

• Develop and implement highly-responsive user interface components using React concepts.

• Troubleshooting interface software and debugging application codes.

• Developing and implementing front-end architecture to support user interface concepts.

• Monitoring and improving front-end and back-end performance.

• Develop SQL queries to support back-end functionality.

• Develop Node.js endpoints that are served via GraphQL

• Documenting application changes and developing updates.

Developer Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in similar roles

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field.

• Previous experience working as a Javascript Developer.

• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and front-end languages.

• Knowledge of REACT tools and front-end component libraries (most notably Material UI)

• Experience with user experience and design.

• Experience with NodeJS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL (or other SQL database)

• Knowledge of performance testing frameworks.

• Experience with browser-based debugging and performance testing software.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

• Good project management skills.

• A self-starting attitude: You work independently and effectively, with little oversight or management

• You’re excited about the opportunity to work very hard in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high energy to build something incredible

• Possesses a strong sense of urgency, with the ability to get things done both autonomously and collaboratively

• Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills, who is comfortable in a hands-on, “roll up your sleeves”, start-up environment

• Startup experience a plus
