Mainframe Network Consultant (Remote)

Pomeroy is hiring! Our client is seeking a fully remote Mainframe Network Consultant for a 6 month contract. Open to qualified candidates throughout the US.

Must have experience in the following areas:

VTAM Resource Definition and Startup - Understanding what resources are needed for each implementation and how to create them / Startup list and config / Usual configuration parameters.

TCPIP Profile Configuration - Having knowledge on the IP, UDP and TCP configuration parameters / AUTOLOG interactions / Route definitions / Interface configuration.

IP Routing - Static and Dynamic - Deep understanding on how IP routing works, both static and dynamic / Subnetting / Layer 2, Layer 3 and Layer 4 understanding.

Common IP Based Applications Support - Experienced in supporting FTP, SMTP, SSH, TELNET, TSO.

Network Security Implementation - Experienced in implementing and supporting TLS. Other protocols are a plus, but TLS is a must-have.

Enterprise Extender - Implementation of SNA over IP Networks.

File Transfer Applications - Having worked with Connect Direct, XCOM, Netview FTP, CFT File Transfer Manager, etc.

SNA and IP Networks - Deep understanding on how SNA and IP networks work, how they interact with each other, and how to troubleshoot them.

Session Manager Support - Experienced in working with TPX, Supersession, or any other session manager.

HNS - Host network support
