Summary

QA Technician is responsible for ensuring the production line runs efficiently with high product quality standards. Technician is a key contributor to the continuous improvement of critical plant performance metrics in the areas of safety, productivity, cost, quality and sustainability. 

Qualification Requirements

·        High School Diploma or equivalent

·        2+ years of experience in quality control/quality assurance

·        Read, write, and speak in English

·        Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

·        Purchase/supply personal scrubs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·        Effective communication skills

·        Notify QA Management of inspection results and audit findings

·        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manuals, and written directions

·        Knowledge in the areas of medical devices, quality management systems, sterilization, auditing, change control, records management, clean rooms, and material safety data sheets (MSDS)

·        Organized and detail oriented

·        Ability to document inspection results and generate/redline instructions

·        Ability to follow procedures

·        Ability to use tools, read rulers, scales and gauges

·        Ability to read complex drawings, diagrams or blueprints as reference

·        Ability to work independently as well as in a group environment

·        Intermediate computer skills in order to operate client's computer system

Essential Functions 

·        Perform inspections of raw materials, labels, and finished company products according to procedures and specifications

·        Accurately document inspection and testing results and review product history records

·        Conduct and document process audits according to written procedures

·        Work with the QA Management to provide feedback on inspection results and audit findings

·        Maintain material and product history records

·        Maintain the QA lab and QA inspection areas

·        Work with the QA management to prioritize work and complete tasks in a timely manner

·        Support documentation control with DCO routing, document reviews and record storage

·        Support label generation and other tasks, as required

·        Support department objectives

·        Follow safety requirements of the equipment and processes in assigned areas  

·        Physical Demands

·        Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up

·        Requires good manual dexterity for a range of motions (standing, walking, bending, reaching)

·        Occasionally ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like

·        Occasionally move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces

·        Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or walk

·        Constant ability to communicate with others to exchange information

·        Vision ability: close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus

·        Ability to differentiate all colors as well as clarity of vision to inspect products to ensure accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of

·        Requires fine manipulation, eye-hand coordination to manipulate very small parts, tweezers and other instruments

·        Occasional repetitive motion that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers

·        Ability to occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools

·        Must be able to maintain pace with shifting priorities and receiving and shipping schedules

·        Ability to reach overhead, at or below shoulder level

·        Requires the ability to regularly perform repetitive motions and to bond using repetitive moderate force gripping

·        Must be able to work under florescent lighting

·        Requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift

·        Must be able to lift, push and/or pull 50lbs in all directions

·        May require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet customer deadlines

·        Work Environment

·        Clean room environment where gowns, hair cover, shoe covers, safety glasses and gloves are worn at all times

·        Ability to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts

·        Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles

·        Exposure to extreme heat

·        Occasional exposure to chemicals

·        Ability to occasionally work in wet or humid environment (indoor)

·        Occasionally working in noisy environments

·        Occasionally working in small and/or enclosed spaces

·        Ability to occasionally work in office/desk area
