Position Summary
Points North, the leading software company in the compliance and reporting space, is seeking a highly technical Quality Assurance Specialist to join its growing team. This position will work collaboratively with a distributed Agile Scrum team to provide SaaS solutions. The QA Specialist creates tests that identify issues with software before a product launch. These tests entail other tasks such as developing and running new tests and reporting their results to stakeholders, who will collaborate to fix program bugs or problems. A successful QA Specialist is highly organized and can adjust priorities while having great attention to detail. Ultimately, you will work with a team to ensure our final products meet our organization’s standards across the board. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate how their past success will transfer to Points North and how they will thrive in a growing, agile, and fast paced company.
Key Responsibilities
- Create tests to identify software problems
- Analyze bugs and errors found during tests
- Document results of tests for the software development team
- Recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience
- Motivate the development process for efficiency and performance
- Works alongside the development team to enhance and improve programs
- Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends and advancements
- Integrate automated scripts into the build release process
Required Education and Experience
- 3-5 years experience working as a QA Specialist
- Broad experience in software development and testing
- Technical degree or related work experience
Required Skills
- High proficiency in computer technology and programming languages
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in an Agile Scrum framework
- Exceptional knowledge of SDLC and bug tracking systems
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
- Hands on experience with QA automation testing tools
- Solid knowledge of SQL
- Experience with performance or security testing is a plus
