Service Porter / Custodian

The Pohanka Automotive Group in Capitol Heights, MD is looking to hire a Service Porter/Custodian to join our team! We are looking for an individual who is passionate, dedicated, enjoys working with others, and has a willingness to go above and beyond to take care of our customers and team. Whether you are a seasoned professional or someone interested in learning more about the Automotive Industry, we are willing to train the right candidate!

Service Porter/Custodian Responsibilities

• Greet service customers as they arrive to the Service Department 
• Maintain an organized parking area and service lane (barricades, directing traffic, etc.)
• Park, retrieve and perform regular lot inspections of vehicles awaiting service 
• Daily cleaning responsibilities to include but not limited to using the floor scrubber machine in the shop and service lane, trash pickup in the parking lot, relocation of used tires to area of pickup, shop trash and recycling.
• Effectively communicate with other members of the Service and Sales Department
• Assist in ways that could help benefit the customer experience or fellow employees
• Dry vehicles off with provided supplies after technician finishes performing exterior car wash to service customers vehicles

Applicant Qualifications 

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Pro-active and will take pride in their work
• Effective communication, organizational and time management skills
• Punctual
• Positive attitude 
• Full-time position with Saturday availability (out by 3pm on Saturday’s)
• Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
• Willing to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening
