The National Director of Wine, Beer & Spirits is responsible for driving the growth of the national retail business, including both our street locations and ecommerce business. The Director will oversee and build all vendor relationships and all buying decisions in multiple states. They will model and provide exceptional Guest Service, motivate and inspire the Teams with their passion for the products, hold the Teams accountable for all Plum Market financial goals, standards and operating procedures.
Who you are:
You have a passion for Wine, Beer & Spirits, have brand awareness, and are in touch with the trends.
You have experience building the business, and with vendor relationships in multiple states.
You have the experience and knowledge to balance the needs of differing state laws in regards to the product.
You have the experience to help create new marketing and promotional strategies, specifically in the digital space.
You have a respect, and a desire to mentor the people that handle and purchase Plum Market’s products.
You model and provide exceptional Guest Service to our Guests and Team Members.
You are innovative, have the courage to pursue new ideas, and make suggestions for improvement.
You make an impact by accepting a challenge, working hard, being bold and taking action.
You have an extreme eye for details and create effective merchandising plans.
What you will bring:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously as a detail-oriented and efficient person.
Able to travel.
Strong financial acumen and experience in negotiation with vendors and suppliers.
Desire to live your passion at work and inspire passion in others.
Calm in stressful situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
Able to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break – we work on the floor, and alongside our Teams.
Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads, up to 50 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
What you will do:
Recruit, manage and coach the Wine, Beer & Spirits Teams to push the standards of excellence to WOW our Guests and inspire our Team Members.
Coach to sales results, including the management of revenue growth and margin in all states.
Develop pricing strategies, and effective marketing and merchandising initiatives.
Create and mentor Team Leaders in the execution of a successful Wine, Beer & Spirits training program.
Build a loyal Wine, Beer & Liquor clientele.
Participates alongside the Team in tastings and special events.
