Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Provides support to project management and finance team by developing and maintaining project reporting, by serving as a client liaison for finance related inquiries, by performing contract and change control management, by monitoring and maintaining project budget and schedule, by identifying areas of project risk, and by executing quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all project financials and related client deliverables. Offers assistance to all projects within the Disaster Recovery, Cyber Security, and Class Action Claims divisions ensuring compliance in Plexos Group's standards.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides support to the project management and finance team by being accountable for the following tasks:

  • Performance of analyses, optimization, and reporting on Plexos Group's project(s) including assessments of risk, cost, schedule associated with completing planned scopes of work
  • Understanding and documentation of project requirements and expectations
  • Development and performance of scenario analyses to determine impact of and assist management in key financial decisions
  • Development and maintenance of small pricing estimates, project budgets, project schedules, monthly forecasts, and weekly project reporting
  • Production of monthly project review package(s) reporting key project/ program metrics such as performance and variances to baseline, A/R collections, change order(s), utilization rates, and non-billable activity; Host monthly project reviews
  • Audit of project time, unit, and expense application (weekly); Issuing charging guidance based on project specific requirements; Validation/ obtainment of project overtime approvals and expenditures
  • Serves as a financial liaison to client supporting contract and change control management including funding limit notifications, response to auditor inquiries, and development/ delivery of project required financial deliverables
  • Performance of project invoicing activities including validation of data against contract requirements/ constraints; Review of final invoice package
  • Maintenance of project cashflow projections; AR payment expectations; Project vendor payout forecasts; Monitoring and collection of aged receivables
  • ERP system maintenance including but not limited to project setup, establishment of project work breakdown structures, budgets, and project teams
  • Support the Project Manager in day-to-day business operations functions. This includes Project Controls activities, Subcontractor management, Accounting labor/ ODC adjustments, client & vendor invoice reconciliation to job cost data, presentation preparations, and project plan management.

 

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in MS Excel required including but not limited to comfort with the development and maintenance of complex financial models; Utilization of vlookups, sumifs, and countifs formulas along with pivot tables are a must
  • Familiarity with VBA or SQL expressions are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred; Master’s in Business Administration advantageous
  • 3-5 years project controls experience required; Larger firm/ project experience preferred, disaster recovery project experience desirable
  • Deltek Vantagepoint software experience favorable
  • High quality work product and attention to detail essential
  • Strong communication skills required as the position is client and higher management facing; Must be able to work with a geographically disperse team
  • Self-motivating, independent worker requiring minimal supervisor needed
  • Must be able to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously; Complete the tasks on time and within budget
  • Must be able to adapt and perform in a fast-pace, fluid environment and be able and willing to work overtime when necessary
  • Willingness to travel as needed
