The will be responsible for repairs, maintenance, and inspections for all Pitkin County Fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and proper functioning. The Fleet Mechanic will work as part of a high performing team and will have a desire to learn. The Fleet shop is located on the Public Works campus, across from the Aspen Pitkin County Airport, just a few miles outside of Aspen. Our Fleet Mechanics generally work 4x 10 hour shifts from 6am, with Friday, Saturday, Sunday off during the summer months. . Pitkin County Fleet is responsible for 500 units and includes several specialty vehicles for Airport, Solid Waste Center, Open Space and Trails and Emergency Vehicles, in addition to passenger cars, trucks and heavy equipment. We are interested in speaking with applicants at an apprentice level, all the way to a senior mechanic level and the successful applicant will be compensated according to their skills and experience.
