Successful steamship line has an exciting career opportunity in outside sales!
Profitably sell Transpacific ocean transportation to importers in assigned territory.
Develop and pursue sales leads, maintaining a constant pipeline of opportunities.
Respond to requests for rates, information and operational assistance from clients.
Meet targets for TEU volume, revenue and profit as budgeted by the Company.
Maintain existing clients while generating new business.
Understand market developments, rate/surcharge changes, and competitive activities.
Work with internal staff to provide exemplary service and ensure customer retention.
Minimum 3 years' experience in Trans-Pacific Eastbound sales.
Knowledge of international ocean import transportation services.
Ability to negotiate, create sales plans and close business.
Professional computer, communication and presentation skills.
Familiar with vessel ops, documentation, routes/transits and security.
Flexibility to travel as needed throughout the region, including overnight.
A proactive, positive attitude and a customer-service oriented mindset.
