Job Description

Position Purpose:

The Controller is responsible for the overall financial aspects of company operations. The Controller will provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the company

Position Accountabilities & Performance Expectations:

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare financial statements, financial reports and special analyses and information reports
  • Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and benchmarks
  • Assist in establishing customer pricing
  • Supervise the daily operations of the accounting department
  • Assist in establishing and improving short- and long-range accounting department goals, policies and operating procedures
  • Assist with negotiation and maintenance of company insurance renewals and policies
  • Provide necessary information for the preparation of the annual tax returns
  • Ensure record systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards
  • Manage cash including the LOC balance
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Complete the necessary month end journal entries and reconciliations
  • Manage and record fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Compile and report all sales tax filings and request sales tax exempt certificates
  • Prepare all year end audit work papers and work closely with auditor to provide necessary information

  • Attend work on a regular basis. Adhere to all guidelines as outlined in the Pigott Team Member Handbook.
  • Accept responsibility for personal and professional development.
  • Perform additional responsibilities at the request of manager or the Pigott Leadership team.
  • Demonstrate cooperation and teamwork in accomplishing the goals and objectives in the department.
  • Adhere to Pigott corporate branding standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of business operations on behalf of Pigott and all clients.

Position Requirements:

  • B.S., Major in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5+ years related work experience recommended.
  • Previous experience with accounting software/systems required.
  • Basic Computer skills (typing, MS Word, Excel, Crystal Reporting, Data mining a plus)
