Adjunct Fermentation Science Instructor Job Description

Hours 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm (Monday - Thursday)

This individual will be responsible for teaching the Fermentation Science program to Post-Secondary students (21 and over), which will include experience in training students through theory/lecture and practical/demonstration classes.

This individual will also be responsible for fostering partnerships and monitoring internships with breweries around the Aurora/Denver Metro Area. 

Fermentation Science allows students to explore all aspects of the beer brewing, winemaking, and fermented foods industries. Students will learn about craft beer fermentation science, wort production, yeast fermentation, beer contaminants, brewery cleaning, beer styles through sensory tests, styles of wines and fermentation, and food fermentation internship lab experiences. 

Qualifications

• Applicant must possess or be eligible to obtain a Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license and full-time Career and Technical Education (CTE) credential (secondary/postsecondary level within 90 days of employment. 

• As a condition of employment, the individual selected for this position will be expected to complete the APS-sponsored Linguistically Diverse Educator (LDE) Certificate Program within the first three years of employment. • Teaching experience is preferred

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Must be a team player with interpersonal skills, organization and program management skills.

• Minimum of 5 years industry related work experience

Job Type: Part-Time

Pay: $30.00 per hour

We require participation in coaching cycles with our team of coaches, especially during the first 3 years of employment. If you were to accept employment, a condition of that employment would be additional coaching support during the first year. Coaching Cohorts are 1.5 hours biweekly, and you will be scheduled to meet with a coach individually.
