Job Description

Piatt Hotel Group is looking for a Social Sales Manager to be part of their corporate centralized sales team. This role will focus on the social sector of business for our portfolio of hotels. The Social Sales Manager will field incoming social inquires, solicit new social group accounts, maintain existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals in rooms, food, beverage, and room rental. This role works directly with clients to determine their catering needs, details events and coordinates with the Food & Beverage team to ensure the event is successful. This is an onsite position and will be located at the Piatt Companies headquarters in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with sales team on solicitation efforts through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date, and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.
  • Compile reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly forecast, marketing budget, lead management system, group booking pace report and sales meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets. Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
  • Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, to previous, current and prospective clients.
  • Assist in preparation, implementation and compilation of data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts, and other reports as directed/required.
  • Conduct on property tours and meetings with prospective and existing clients.
  • Professionally represent the hotel in the community and industry organizations and events.
  • Participate in daily meeting, training and other sales-related meetings as required.
  • Knowledge of market trends, competition and key customers of the hotel.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years of hospitality sales and marketing experience preferred
  • Bachelors degree preferred, high school diploma required.
  • Previous experience in the sales process and function of a hotel
  • Hilton and Wyndham brand experience a plus

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with Delphi, strongly desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Ability to effectively listen, communicate and perform diplomacy with internal and external clients in all situations.
  • High level attention to detail and ability to multitask required.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours in a high paced environment.
