Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must pass basic skills test
  • Ability to use various hand, electric and air tools, along with measuring devices.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and use fractions and percentages.
  • Able to read mechanical blueprints.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with no supervision
  • Competent and able to use potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions.
  • 3 to 5 years related welding experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum one-year training of material and welding techniques.
  • The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail.

Essential:

  • Responsible to ensure quality parts in work areas.
  • Maintain a minimum 100% efficiency.
  • Set-up and operate MIG welders.
  • Set-up and operate TIG welding operations.
  • Responsible for instructing and directing work of welder “B” acting as a mentor.
  • Notify leadperson, managers, etc. of any deviation of product quality.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Follow all company safety rules and procedures.
  • Complete operation of punch and draw press, drill presses, belt sanders, stud machine, saw room, or assembly of 300 ovens as assigned. (Press operation tasks as per Punch/Draw press operator job description.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
