Job Description

Phoenix Lighting is seeking a full-time Production Planner to prepare daily and weekly schedules for the assigned product lines or departments and to coordinate the overall master schedule. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with details and communicating regularly with purchasing and production staff.

PRODUCTION PLANNER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Review Material Resource Planning (MRP)

  • a. Determine make and buy shortages.
  • b. Create work orders for finished goods.
  • c. Advise purchasing or fab/machining scheduler of shortages.

2. Sales

  • a. Provide estimated lead times.
  • b. Update information in the Sales Order Report.
  • c. Provide estimated ship dates.
  • d. Lead weekly review of Sales Order Report.

3. Expeditor

  • a. Work with floor supervision to change priorities.
  • b. Print and distribute Sales Order Report to the shop floor.
  • c. Contact our coaters regarding part status.
  • d. Verify inventory of parts and finished goods.
  • e. Monitor key customer orders (i.e. Joy Global, Caterpillar and Grainger).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a material planning role within a manufacturing operation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Supply Chain and/or Operations Management preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of MRP using a modern ERP system such as SAP, Microsoft AX, Epicor (Microsoft AX preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and QRM concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access Database.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong desire to follow-through on projects and commitments.
  • Willingness to work onsite in our Milwaukee, WI location.
  • US Work Authorization required.
