About the Position: We are looking for a part-time diesel mechanic to join our team. The diesel mechanic will maintain and repair machinery and mobile equipment in the production shop. This individual will work independently on preventative and corrective maintenance tasks for that equipment.

Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma
  • Experience should include repair of diesel and mobile equipment
  • Knowledge of tools used to repair mobile equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventative maintenance schedule on diesel and mobile equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and mobile equipment by locating damage, defects, and wear
  • Following a work order system, prioritizes and performs corrective maintenance
  • Operate and inspect fork trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment to diagnose defects and mechanical errors
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Follow and understand all OSHA standards in regard to power industrial vehicles
  • Document and provide information to management regarding the servicing, repairing, calibrating, and testing of mobile equipment
  • Will be responsible for maintaining repair and maintenance records
  • Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
