Phelan Construction, a small but dynamic New England-based general contractor and construction management firm, is seeking an assistant project manager to add to our quickly growing team. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities of Assistant Project Manager:
Assisting in communicating with project team regarding ASI’s, RFI’s and other questions that arise throughout the life cycle of the project;
Assisting in obtaining project permits;
Maintaining record drawings, project information and project communication in Procore;
Obtaining submittal documents and managing submittal review workflow;
Preparing and distributing Owner-GC contracts and exhibits;
Preparing and distributing GC-subcontractor contracts and exhibits;
Purchasing, procuring and tracking material orders in a timely manner to ensure their arrival to site prior to required install date;
Coordinating required site services with superintendents (sanitary facilities, dumpsters, etc.);
Preparing and distributing weekly reports, meeting notes, agendas etc. as required by project;
Preparing, distributing and archiving close out documents;
Providing support to site superintendents to answer questions, order materials, etc. as needed to ensure project schedule is maintained; and
Assist in site inspections as required.
Education and/or Experience:
One to three years of verifiable experience and basic knowledge of trades required;
High school diploma or GED required, associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred;
Computer literacy required, experience with Procore, Dropbox, Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Project & Outlook) preferred;
Must be able to read and interpret drawings, specifications and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; and
Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must be able to travel to the jobsite(s) if needed;
May be subject to background checks required for government/public work.
Work for this full-time position will primarily take place at Phelan Construction headquarters in North Andover, MA.
Position may be eligible for remote work/teleworking; meetings will be held remotely to the extent possible during the COVID-19 pandemic.
May be required to travel jobsites in various locations.
