Position Summary

The IT Security Administrator reports to the Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure and is responsible for monitoring, configuring, and supporting the security infrastructure. The IT Security Administrator supports the implementation of security controls and procedures to mitigate risks and improve the security posture of the company. Serves as a technical expert in the security and defense of computing systems and information protection. Provides recommendations based on data analysis, research, and industry standards and frameworks.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Install, administer, and troubleshoot security tools such as Next Gen Firewalls, Endpoint protection, CASB, anti-spam and anti-phishing, cloud security, Identity and Access Management, and domain security policies.
  • Monitor and analyze data from Security Information and Event Management tools, for suspicious behaviors or indicators of compromise and take appropriate action.
  • Update software and systems with the latest security patches, following company patch management processes and tools.
  • Support in the implementation of remediation plans from vulnerability assessments and penetration test exercises.
  • Configure user access and permissions within computer systems and applications, enforce the principle of least privilege.
  • Assist in the execution of IT controls to support security and compliance requirements. 
  • Assist in routine audits and ensure systems security controls are in place and effective.
  • Participate in the Security Incident and Response, Disaster Recovery & BCP team.
  • Manage Public Key Infrastructure used for securing communications and encryption. 
  • Support company virtual private networks, site to sites. user remote access system and network security.
  • Identify and document information security risks and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborate with team members from Information Technology to solve problems and improve security.

Professional Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Technical certificate or equivalent coursework, Network+, Security+, CCNA, Microsoft, Firewalls (Preferred)
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Technologies (Windows Servers, Azure, Office 365, Windows Domain Services and Security policies)  
  • 2+ years experienced working with Next Generation Firewalls, Network Security and Endpoint Protection tools. 
  • Healthcare experience. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with NIST, CIS and Security Frameworks
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
  • Understand business practices, approaches, organization, politics, and culture. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Access; Microsoft Outlook.
  • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure with compressed deadlines and multiple deliverables. 
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team or alone. 
  • Willingness to take ownership of problems and follow through to completion.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time.
