Role:
The Peterson Company is seeking a highly self-motivated, disciplined, and strategic National Account Manager, to maintain and grow our specialty product offering and relationships with new and existing national retail and club store customers. In this role, you will own the sales process, including working hand-in-hand with our manufacturing partners and our customers to develop and customize new items to serve the market. You’ll bring your interest, curiosity and strong customer service skills to help grow sales of the specialty cheese and gourmet foods we offer.

Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with national buyers, earning their trust and understanding their priorities so we can best serve them
- Grow relationships with new and existing manufacturing partners to identify and develop new item concepts
- Prepare and deliver seasonal sales presentations
- Review sales progress, and define strategies for growth
- Partner with the inside sales team to streamline order placement and delivery
- Partner with quality assurance and logistics teams to ensure we operate in accordance with the required procedures and protocols of Peterson and our customers
- Provide business updates to senior Sales management on sales results/opportunities
- Stay on top of market trends and the competitive landscape
Who you are:
- 5+ years of experience in Retail or Club Store sales with National chain customers
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills including the ability to create buy-in and influence others while also building and expanding relationships
- Self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal direct supervision
- Strong ability to self-prioritize and multi-task with the ability to pivot frequently
- Willing to travel 10-20% (non-local, including nights and occasional weekends)
- Prior experience in National sales preferred, HQ Selling, Sales Planning, or Distributor Development role

Expected Base Salary Range Between $65,000 and $75,000 annually. Commission opportunities available in addition to base.
