Veterinary Technician - LVT

PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic is looking to add a few skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technicians to their team. We have a welcoming, positive work environment and offer a four-day work week.  PetMedic has a brand- new state of the art facility and strives to offer prompt and quality care for our patients. We are committed to delivering a positive and seamless client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Positive attitude and be a team player
• Able to effectively communicate with clients (triage, discharge, client education, reviewing  medications, etc.)
• Experience with placing IV catheters, administering IV or SQ fluids, administering medications IV, SQ or PO, venipuncture and perform bloodwork
• Comfortable taking radiographs, small animal restraint, triage, stable anesthesia
• Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
• Able to effectively communicate with DVM and other technicians
• Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Able to commit to evening shifts and one weekend day
• Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes, and obtaining histories
• Prepares estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with client

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) required
• Minimum 2 years’ experience, preferably in urgent care or ER
