What You'll Be Doing
The Sales & Inventory Specialist takes direction from and supports the Market Area Sales & Inventory Manager. The Sales & Inventory Specialist has primary responsibility for managing vehicle wholesale allocation, sales reporting, and vehicle scheduling for their assigned dealerships. This role will manage a zone of approximately 80 dealerships representing on average over 40,000 units of annual sales volume. The Sales & Inventory Specialist is a strategic role that will interface directly with the ownership/senior leadership of assigned dealerships daily. Additionally, this position will have a matrix reporting relationship to the Regional Manager, as well as a supporting role with the Customer Experience and Network Development Managers.

During a Typical Day, You'll

Vehicle Allocation/Wholesale

  • Conducts monthly dealership vehicle wholesale allocations and manages post-wholesale allocation communications
  • Manages and communicates to stakeholders 'tracking & tracing' actions/activities related to dealership vehicle orders
  • Manages Vehicle Allocation and Customer Order Verification Program (COVP) for assigned dealerships
  • Accountable for the Sales Velocity Analysis (SVA) in conjunction with managing aged inventory for assigned dealerships

Vehicle Sales/Reporting

  • Lead development of Regional Sales Updates and provide sales close / Month-end support
  • Responsible for the development of sales close estimates for assigned dealerships
  • Accountable for achieving 2A6 Monthly Sales Objective

Scheduling

  • Lead/support assigned dealerships with the management of order bank and scheduling functions which include:
  • Order Bank Maintenance
  • Priority Vehicle Scheduling
  • Commodity Management
  • SRO/SIM/RGO Type Vehicle Orders
  • Lead/develop vehicle scheduling sorts (IA online)
  • Lead scheduling of all Specialty Vehicles as well as all MP1 and 'early build' vehicles
  • Facilitate Vehicle Traces and support Ramp Holds/Diverts/Rebills in conjunction with Region Management/Market Representation Teams

What You Bring to the Role

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent related experience
  • 3 - 5 years' of related experience
  • Experience with dealer operations and handling escalated customer issues
  • Experience in a marketing/sales or financial analysis function
  • Knowledge of Customer Contact Process and Guidelines, Escalated Handling Process
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to persuade and sell using a business case
  • Advanced analytical skills and financial acumen:
  • ability to interpret financial statements and cash trend analysis reports
  • ability to analyze dealer operating reports and program-specific information to identify problems and opportunities and build effective business cases
  • Strong business acumen:
  • ability to apply dealer service operations knowledge to drive improvements in customer and dealer satisfaction and sales revenue
  • focused with the tenacity to drive results in multiple locations
  • Creative and forward-thinking; seeks opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement

  • Quick learner, with a desire and interest in learning new information
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a consultative approach
  • Knowledge of computers and software (MS Operating Software, MS Office Products)
  • Must represent Ford Motor Company and Percepta professionally with all clients and external organizations and contacts
