Position Title: Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships
Reports To: Director, Strategic Partnerships, NY
Location: Bronx, NY

Per Scholas is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships to be part of a new division on the Per Scholas New York City team. You will be responsible for managing city and state government affairs work within New York. The role will also work to build and cultivate a strong network and execute strategies to advance our mission and accelerate our growth in New York City.

This role calls for excellent communication and project management skills, a high degree of professionalism, as well as strong detail orientation to execute seamless professional engagements between Per Scholas and our partners.

  • Build a strong network with elected officials, government departments and agencies, and key staff to strategically advance Per Scholas' work and mission
  • Track and maintain fluency on relevant state and city legislative and policy issues impacting the organization and develop recommendations as applicable
  • Build external affairs framework, establish KPIs to measure engagement, and implement solutions that will strengthen relationships
  • Participate in relevant coalitions, associations, and other groups on behalf of Per Scholas
  • Collaborate with the marketing team and create collateral and marketing materials to communicate with government and non-government stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the development team on fundraising and public funding opportunities
  • Create effective channels of communication between partners and proactively escalate and problem solve any issues that arise
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships on relevant community-based partnerships and work that advances the mission of the team
  • Support the Director of Strategic Partnership on external engagement and help cultivate thought leadership opportunities


Professional Requirements
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in experience serving or working with government affairs, campaigns, and/or community development in a government-related environment
  • Experience in New York City and New York State politics with a demonstrated understanding of the government affairs
  • Experience or familiarity with the workforce industry and ecosystem
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dig into the details
  • Excellent relationship building and partnership management skills
  • Adept strategic thinker with strong communication skills; written and verbal
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong presentation skills

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary of $65,000 with a range between $60,000 and $68,250 where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.
