Position Title: Director, Strategic Partnerships

Reports To: Managing Director, NCR

Location: Silver Spring, MD

Per Scholas is seeking a Director, Strategic Partnerships who will focus on cultivating a strong network of partners that will advance our mission and accelerate our growth in the Greater Washington region. The Director, Strategic Partnerships will lead all facets of external engagement and relationship management with key stakeholders that can contribute to NCR’s pipeline of learners, either as a referral partner or as an employer/hiring partner. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will supervise NCR’s Recruitment and Admissions team members, and collaborate closely with the Business Solutions team. This role calls for excellent communication, presentation, project management and collaboration skills, as well as strong detail orientation to execute seamless professional engagements between Per Scholas and our partners.


  • Partner with the Managing Director to build a partnership management framework for the Greater Washington market;
  • Lead the day-to-day implementation of an outreach and communications plan focused on building new relationships and partnerships with employers, community organizations, government agencies and philanthropic leaders;
  • Maintain regular communications with partners and prospective partners to enhance NCR campus operations and KPIs;
  • Develop meaningful engagement opportunities between our partners and Per Scholas learners & alumni;
  • Ensure partnerships are meeting outlined goals and proactively address and escalate challenges;
  • Work with the Development team to meet reporting requirements around partnerships including data tracking and analysis;
  • Collaborate across the NCR staff as relevant to informational and recruiting sessions with community partners, employer partners, and/or other regional leaders;
  • Represent the organization externally and participate and cultivate thought leadership opportunities;
  • In collaboration with the Business Solutions team, connect the resources available from employer partners with Per Scholas NCR’s volunteer programs;
  • Support the Managing Director with engagement with the NCR Advisory Board and the broader workforce and tech ecosystem throughout Greater Washington;


Professional Requirements
  • 5 years of relevant experience in the technology and/or workforce sector in Greater Washington
  • Experience establishing strategic frameworks and partnership agreements
  • Relationship building and management skills
  • Experience using social media platforms for promotion, relationship generating and brand building purposes
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dig into the details
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce and analyzing data
  • A “Can Do” spirit and a solutions-oriented “Figure It Out” attitude
