The Project Engineer will work on assigned projects throughout the organization which require both engineering and interpersonal skills. The Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting all aspects of an engineering project relating to the design and manufacturing of custom industrial control solutions.  

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of projects such as:

  • Designs Control Panels and Systems that include HMI’s, Purge and Pressurization, switchgear, motor control, junction box and other related automation systems that meet customer specifications.
  • Determines selection and application of components needed for systems according to specifications and industry guidelines.
  • Prepares documentation including schematics, panel layouts, BOMs and installation instructions.
  • Creates and maintains project drawings using CAD software.
  • Supports fabrication, testing, inspection and qualification.
  • Maintains project schedule and delivery milestones.
  • Manages multiple projects and activities while prioritizing work consistent with business objectives.
  • Works closely with a wide range of support staff including production, purchasing, sales and logistics.
  • Interacts professionally on a regular basis with vendors and customers.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

The background you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in process control system design including CAD-related software.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Electrical standards such as UL, ATEX/IECEx and the NEC/CEC for both hazardous and non-hazardous area applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the use of the intranet and internet.
  • Developed analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
  • Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.
  • Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.
  • Ability to work alongside other employees within all levels of the organization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Control Panel Design for Panel shops.
  • Hazardous location knowledge and design experience.
