Associate Director, FP&A

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Controller, and working closely with the CFO, the Associate Director of FP&A will be key contributor in the finance and accounting organization dedicated to financial integrity and focused on supporting our growth strategy. This individual will have responsibilities for the budgeting, forecasting and analysis, and accounting for PepGens programs that target neuromuscular and neurological conditions.



  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial and operational reporting packages with variance analyses to budget, forecast, latest rolling forecasts, risks/ops and material drivers to business changes
  • Manage the monthly close process with respect to clinical and R&D spend/accruals, working closely with the Sr. Manager Accounting Operations and Sr. Accountant to adhere to public company close deadlines
  • Work closely with operational accounting team to ensure appropriate classification of spend with respect to budget
  • Partner with Program Management to ensure alignment of program budgets and forecasts with R&D project & development timelines; this includes a close partnership of monthly program P&L reporting and driving risks and opportunity analysis
  • Lead implementation of management reporting tools
  • Develop, maintain, and improve financial models/reports that track and analyze functional costs and impact on Company performance
  • Support annual budget process, long range planning, program/portfolio analysis, business development, and financing activities through analysis and scenario modeling
  • Lead the projection modeling for company strategic goals
  • Assist with press releases, including investor presentations
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned by Controller or CFO


  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in the finance and accounting functions of a high-growth company; experience in a development-stage biotechnology is highly preferred
  • Unquestionable integrity and personal ethics
  • Confident and self-aware with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Capable of quickly establishing credibility
  • Experience working in and developing reporting from finance systems, such as NetSuite, Adaptive, Coupa, etc
  • Intelligent, with excellent analytical and strategic skills. Good business judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
