Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position is responsible for conducting program audit reviews and implementing a quality assurance program under the guidance of the Director of the Quality and Compliance. This is a specialized position that focuses on assessing billing and audit reviews to ensure they align with stipulated Department of mental health standards. In addition, support the Quality and Compliance Department with the implementation of an intense and robust quality assurance program of substantial scope and complexity for persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

(Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following)

Demonstrates through understanding of behavioral health core values of quality & service excellence, Community Well-being, and High Ethical Standards.

  • Ensure medical record documentation conveys accurate information to justify billing.
  • Conducting focused reviews to ensure compliance with accreditation and/or certification standards; coordinates and/or assists in activities regarding the development and implementation of plans and time frames for correcting deficiencies involving these standards.
  • Conduct follow up and reviews on incidents and complaints as assigned, including writing reports evaluation/assessment findings
  • Conducts a thorough billing and audit review to identify problematic areas, including follow-up to make sure that the problems have been rectified.
  • Conducts pre-surveys in order to identify and correct deficiencies prior to on-site reviews by accrediting agencies.
  • Assist with quantitative reviews, data collection, data entry, data analysis, and other audit,  and compliance related activities to ensure overall agency compliance to certifying bodies and accreditation standards.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

Education:

 Bachelor’s degree. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and data entry experience preferred.

Requirements (expected proficiencies to excel in this role)

  1. Excellent verbal, organizational and written skills are needed
  2. Ability to effectively and timely utilize software programs, databases, spreadsheets and other tools that aid in completing duties.
  3. DMH billing and audit processes.
