The Maintenance and Facilities Specialist works to complete light-duty maintenance and various other tasks in order to ensure the McPherson - Main branch is ready to open and safely operate throughout the week. This position is responsible for maintaining properties and grounds as well as overseeing the janitorial staff and duties of the McPherson locations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position is responsible for the following functions:


Maintenance/Cleaning
Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies corrected
Maintains buildings, offices and public areas through a preventative maintenance program
Maintains grounds by removing snow, salting walkways, painting lines, mowing grass, trimming shrubs, sprinkler system and other tasks as needed
Schedules regular maintenance of bank vehicles - oil changes, tires, gas, etc.
Ensures that all maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner
Replaces light bulbs and fuses
Cleans drive-thru windows, entry-way doors, vault doors, drive-thru tubes and ATMs as needed
Cleans drive-thru window at McPherson - North branch location as needed
Makes recommendations for repairs and improvements
Working knowledge of facilities in regards to electrical, breaker boxes, light fixtures, fuse boxes, elevator equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry


Opening Bank Location
Prepares the McPherson - Main branch prior to employees arriving by turning on lights, opening doors, making coffee and checking all areas of the bank for security breaches or concerns
Picks up mail from post office daily, sorts and delivers to appropriate department and McPherson locations
Keeps all beverage supplies stocked in appropriate areas
Removes trash and recycling items as needed
Sets up and arranges tables, chairs and the necessary equipment to prepare facilities for board meetings or special events
Keeps paper supply filled in appropriate areas


Waste Management
Cleans grounds and parking lots of litter, glass and other debris
Collects shred bins and store in the appropriate area, coordinate the monthly shredding
Takes recycle and trash items to appropriate public waste disposal and recycling facilities
Transports various items between McPherson branches as needed
Keeps appropriate cleaning materials, supplies, tools and equipment stocked


Leadership
Coordinates the work and oversees the janitorial, maintenance and repair staff duties, performing those duties as needed or as backup
Communicates with management and staff regarding the facility's needs
Makes recommendations for repairs and improvements to management
Various other responsibilities as assigned by the Facilities and Security Manager
Oversees contractors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) engaged in maintenance of the buildings
Ability to manage duties and workflow
Strong organizational skills


Additional Functions
Organize and stock paper, bank tickets, and supplies
Shop for cleaning supplies, drinks and incidental supplies
Keep all bank tickets and envelopes stocked and in appropriate areas
Transport miscellaneous items between all bank locations as needed


QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of basic facilities and equipment maintenance procedures, knowledge of cleaning equipment usage, knowledge of basic elevator equipment maintenance including fuse boxes, breaker boxes and knowledge of basic waste disposal procedures
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2 + years of custodial or related experience
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Attention to detail, self-motivation, self-management, problem-solving, efficient time management, good independent judgment related to maintenance and repair and prioritization, maintenance project management, good communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility and willingness to work with constantly shifting priorities


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
TALKING: Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly
AVERAGE HEARING: Ability to hear average conversations at a standard level in an office as well as in outdoor environments around other customers and bank personnel
REPETITIVE MOTION: The employee is regularly required to type, stand, walk, as well as lift and carry various items normally not to exceed 70 pounds; occasionally required to move furniture or other large items that weigh over 70 pounds but with the assistance of another person
FINGER DEXTERITY: The employee is regularly required to use hands to clean, conduct routine maintenance work using various equipment and implements, as well as type and maneuver a mouse
AVERAGE VISION: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus with 20/20 vision (with or without the assistance of eyeglasses/contacts)
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds (unassisted) as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time


WORKING CONDITIONS
General professional office environment with climate control and adequate lighting. Regular outdoor work, exposing employees to natural weather conditions. Regular travel to and from other locations within the city. Required regular work attendance on Saturdays. Regular hours outside of bank operation hours to complete tasks as necessary.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization
MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Strong numeric capabilities; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to communicate clearly, and the ability to read, analyze and interpret documents
