Pediatric Dentistry & Family Orthodontics, an industry leader in pediatric and adolescent dental care, is hiring at its brand-new state of the art location in Fayetteville, NY! To keep pace with our continuously growing practice, we need Experienced Registered Dental Hygienists who will add to our highly regarded clinical team. Essential Responsibilities: A Registered Dental Hygienist will possess the ability to provide exceptional dental hygiene care to our patients and assist the doctors with various pediatric and adolescent dental care needs. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Examine patient oral areas, head and neck for signs of disease Clean calcareous deposits, accretions and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins with appropriate dental instruments Chart conditions of dental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by the dentist Monitor and manage patient’s well-being and anxiety level Provide accurate and thorough documentation, and effectively communicate with doctors, staff, patients, and care-givers as necessary Other team support responsibilities, as required Required Skills and Abilities: Accuracy/Thoroughness: Able to complete work that is free from errors and omissions Reliability: Able to consistently report to work on time and assist your team members Initiative: Able to proactively and effectively address issues as they arise, and work independently on a daily basis with minimal supervision Team Player: Able to effectively communicate and work cooperatively with others Required Qualifications: Registered Dental Hygienist License Preferred Qualifications: Local Anesthetic and Nitrous Oxide Administration Certification Previous dental experience working with children of various age levels and capabilities, including children with special needs Physical Requirements: Able to lift dental instrumentation trays (up to 5lbs) routinely Able to routinely handle dental materials or chemicals used in dental operatories or laboratories including, but not limited to latex, acrylic, glutaraldehyde, etc. Able to stand or sit for short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of time Able to assist staff with patient stabilization devices PDFO offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including a bi-weekly health care subsidy, medical insurance, dental assistance, and a 401k plan with a 6% employer match!
