Pediatric Associates of Alexandria is growing and looking to hire Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) to join our outpatient pediatric offices in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County, and Potomac Yard in Arlington. New Grads welcome! We seek candidates who will thrive in a busy, fast-paced pediatric practice, who loves kids, relates well with families of varying socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and is a team player. We have a PER DIEM, PART-TIME and FULL-TIME (see below for practice hours) schedule presently available.
Responsibilities:
• Functions as an efficient coordinator of unit activities, involving clinical data, handling, and processing of laboratory testing, health education, outgoing and incoming communications with patients and clinic staff.
• Assistant to the Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and fellow Nursing staff
• Participate in quality assurance
• Proper use of ICD-10 and CPT codes
• Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the appropriate use of medical terminology
• Demonstrates accurate performance of clinical skills, including laboratory procedures/screening/testing, running CLIA waved tests
• Assists in scheduling appointments, answering phones
• Demonstrate accurate ability to obtain vital signs, height, weight measurements, health screening
• Demonstrates knowledge of first aid techniques, holds BLS certification
• Demonstrates proper technique for sterilization of instruments
• Maintains accurate clinical data
• Files documents as appropriate
• Completes requisitions for required transactions (lab orders, health forms, etc)
• Participates in staff development programs and completes mandatory in-service and safety activities annually
• Adheres to scheduled work hours
• Adheres to Pediatric Associates of Alexandria Policies
• Demonstrates understanding and application of Universal Precautions/Exposure Control Plan
• Demonstrates positive customer relations
• Maintains a collaborative relationship with all members of the healthcare team
• Utilizes appropriate channels of communication/chain of command
Knowledge, Skills Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Abilities:
· Licensed in the State of Virginia as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA)
· Maintains Clinical education requirements as required by the State of Virginia
Hours: **Candidates selected will potentially work both AM and PM shifts**
· Monday – Thursday: 5.45am - 1.30pm AND 12.45pm - Closing (8pm)
· Friday: 5.45am - 12.30pm AND 11.45am - Closing(6pm)
· All employees are required to be on weekend rotation after completing the orientation process.
