We are looking for an absolute rock star of a graphic designer to join our graphics team, working with other graphic designers and our creative director to help bring our brand to life. Our graphics team touches almost all parts of the company, from packaging design to web design to video graphics. Everything from enormous strategic projects to small tactical tweaks.
WHO ARE WE?
We are Peak Design. We make products that keep your gear organized, protected, and accessible, so you are free to adventure, commute, and create. We pride ourselves on creating true utility through elegant, thoughtful design. We started back in 2011 and now our team is almost 40 people strong. We’re a member of 1% For The Planet and The Conservation Alliance and are cofounders of Climate Neutral Certified. There’s plenty more we have to say about who we are and what we care about...check out the Explore tab on our website for more.
We are a tight knit bunch. The company thrives because we believe in our mission AND we believe in each other. We hang out, we laugh together, we cry together, we try and keep work a place where there are some warm and fuzzy feelings.
WHO ARE YOU?
2-5 years experience as a graphic designer.
Awesome at Illustrator and Photoshop, confidence in InDesign.
Awesome at communicating, both written and verbally. You can design but you can also talk about design.
Awesome at web design. You can concept, wireframe, know some html and css, and are good at interfacing with engineers (gasp!).
Good photo editing experience. You know how to navigate Photoshop and generally get a picture to do what you want it to.
Good understanding of vendor relationships, both in getting assets created/printed and maintaining these relationships
Some motion graphic experience would be a nice bonus, but not required. Show it off if you have it!
Self-starter. We operate with as little structure as possible, and as a result things generally make more sense at Peak Design to folks who can turn a vague idea into a tangible asset with limited input.
Obsession with detail but commitment to larger, strategic vision.
Ability to quickly turn feedback into design changes. Constructive criticism can be hard but it’s an integral part of getting designs out the door.
Great people skills. Lots of talking and working with other teams.
Great organization and commitment to using project management software.
We need you to be living in the Bay Area for this job.
