Pawn Broker/ Sales Associate
We currently are seeking an outgoing, hardworking, and dependable individual to train as a Pawnbroker and Sales Associate to add to our team.
This is a very interesting job that allows for personal decision-making, and unique interactions with customers. From loaning and buying jewelry and electronics to tools and firearms, video games, and music instruments, there is a ton of variety and loads of opportunity in this cool job working with a great company!
This position is primarily a customer service role.
The sales and loan associate evaluates, purchases, and/or loans on merchandise, performs asset evaluations, tests assets
Performs loan documentation and bill paying, accepts payments/makes changes,s and informs customers of our policies and their responsibilities by performing the following duties.
Greets customers to qualify for their needs.
Answers telephone and directs calls to the correct person/department.
Stocks shelves and cases with the merchandise.
Promotes sales and familiarizes customers with warranties/exchange policies.
Retrieves items from the warehouse for customer pickup or to process for sale.
Properly cleans, prices, and tags merchandise.
Researches the value of merchandise through the use of the internet, internal company database, co-workers, and/or specialists within the company.
Exchanges merchandise for customers and accept returns.
Answers customers’ questions concerning location, price, and use of the merchandise.
Calculates sales discounts, sale prices, and total purchases for price.
Examines customer identification when necessary.
Explains the terms of collateral loans to customers.
Assesses and tests items offered as pledges for loans/buys.
Evaluates the collateral value of the merchandise on possible loans.
Researches current customer accounts
Complies with any federal, state, and local pawn laws.
Provides the appropriate, agreed-upon amount of cash to the customer for loans/buys.
Rejects collateral that has no pledge value.
Qualifications for Pawn Broker/ Sales Associate:
Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
Must be willing to undergo a background check to work around firearms
Must have an open and flexible schedule. Evenings and weekends availability.
Previous retail and/or money handling experience is a plus
Able to lift 30+ pounds
Enjoy working with people--both customers and co-workers
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
Must have basic computer skills
Must be able to work independently as well as on a team
Must be able to multi-task
Bilingual skills are a plus, with a potentially higher starting wage
