PAW REHAB is interviewing for a FULL-TIME or PART-TIME EXPERIENCED VETERINARY ASSISTANT to join our dedicated team! We are a veterinary clinic which specializes in physical rehabilitation and acupuncture for pets, owned and directed by a veterinarian with over 20 years of experience. We value integrity, professionalism and dependability. This position is best suited for those who truly enjoy client interaction and enjoy the consistency of seeing the same patients and clients on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis and those who are rewarded by observing these patients get stronger and better each visit. ABOUT THE POSITION: The VETERINARY ASSISTANT will work under the supervision of our veterinary doctor to provide support to the veterinarian and the veterinary technicians during rehab sessions, assist with restraining and attending pets during acupuncture, etc). You'll play an integral role in assisting the doctor with initial exams/consults and rechecks including note taking, transcribing dictated information and documentation of client communications, client education, and providing veterinary nursing care as needed. Our staff is expected to meet the demands of the clinic's schedule and to work effectively and efficiently with the doctors and support staff as well as be able to work independently. Ideal candidate's qualifications include: - MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR VETERINARY EXPERIENCE IN A CLINICAL SETTING to include patient care, handling and animal restraint, filling prescriptions, stocking/inventory, client/patient admission and invoicing/cashiering - Lots of love for dogs and cats - Excellent communication skills - Professional work ethic - Excellent computer and typing skills, experience with digital/computer records/veterinary software is preferred (we are a paperless practice) - We work with many debilitated patients of all sizes, so the position requires physical strength and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
