Position: Controller/Business Manager

Reports To: Owner 

Compensation: From $90,000 a year Depending on Experience
Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday
Location: On-site in Orlando office with occasional travel to Space Coast office. This is not a remote position.

We are searching for an individual that can lead and inspire change within the accounting team, that includes, a JCA, AP Specialist and AR Specialist. We are looking to you to bring new and innovative ideas to help improve our processes. We need a controller that is precise, analytical, accurate and is an expert in construction accounting.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the construction accounting operations
  • Production of monthly financial reports
  • Management of cash flow and forecasting
  • Review job closings
  • Respectful and confident leader of the accounting staff as well as other critical accounting functions

Skills you will need:

  • 4+ years of construction or manufacturing job costing accounting
  • 3+ Years of people management experience within and accounting or finance department
  • QuickBooks proficiency preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, v lookups, h lookups, VBA, and Macros, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Required
  • CPA designation preferred
  • **Prior Construction Accounting Experience Highly Preferred**

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

1.     Professionally represent the PDR principles of honesty and integrity.

2.     Supervise office staff responsible for: Payroll, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Accounts
Receivable, Cash Collection, Loss Control, and Purchasing.

3.     Review job costs and overheads for corrective action.

4.     Establish approval of procedures for capital expenditures and general purchase.

5.     Prepare and file local, state and federal licenses and tax returns.

6.     Forecast and manage available cash.

7.     Prepare all financial forecasts, budgets, and reports.

8.     Maintain Contract/Insurance files on all tradesmen and vendors.

9.     Monitor and maintain adequate company insurances.

10.     Maintain inventory and purchase of office supplies.

11.     Administer Human Resource policies.

12.     Oversee collection process.

13.     Monitor vendor accounts.

14.     Review all job closings and adjust compensation accounts.

15.     Backup computer systems daily.

16.     Participate in the collection process.
