Job Description

 

Patriot3 is seeking a qualified CNC machinist with a concentration in lathe work who also has programming experience. As a designer and manufacturer of custom defense and maritime equipment, Patriot3 is entrusted to provide intuitive, unique, and safe products to its customers. Our products must be innovative in order to maintain our industry-leading reputation. To apply, candidates must have successfully completed a qualified machinist training program or apprenticeship and have a minimum of 3 years of experience. Candidates must also be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder.

 

Responsibilities

Patriot3’s CNC Machinist will be required to operate CNC machinery (primarily lathe) to both manufacture and repair parts. The machinist will also be required to operate manual machinery and tools as required. Other duties include programming CNC machinery and performing routine maintenance of machinery and tooling. A highlight of the responsibilities include tasks such as:

 

  • Operate CNC (lathe, vertical mill) and manual machines (saw, drill, mill) to create prototype and production parts and assemblies
  • Create CNC programs manually (at the machine) and using CAM software
  • Create fixtures for fabrication and assembly
  • Assemble fabricated components
  • Work with Manufacturing Manager to develop, prototype, and test various parts and assemblies
  • Work with production teams to ensure proper part and assembly integration
  • Inspect prototype and production parts and assemblies
  • Perform manufacturing equipment maintenance

 

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

Patriot3 is looking for a motivated, highly organized individual who is interested in joining our team and who believes his/her work will reflect a positive and professional image upon the organization. Candidates must demonstrate the following qualities:

 

  • Successful completion of apprenticeship or other formal training in CNC machine operation
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Have extensive knowledge of CNC and manual machine shop tools and their operations
  • Ability to maintain tool inventory
  • Ability to interpret detail and manufacturing drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge in the use of industry-standard measuring and test equipment
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD and CAM software
  • Able to work with and participate in design meetings with mechanical design engineers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on complex projects individually and in groups
  • Must be Organized
  • Must be Self-Motivated
  • Must be a Team Player
  • Availability for flexible scheduling including international and domestic travel

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CAMWorks CAM software
  • Skilled in hands on prototyping and R&D
  • Strong mechanical ability
