Electronics Engineer

Path Engineering LLC (a staffing agency with years of experience helping companies with high-volume hiring needs) is posting this job on behalf of ExecBase.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop firmware and software for electronic systems based on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and embedded microcontrollers.
• Assist the engineering team in creating specifications and verification plans for electronic systems of all new products.
• Code, debug, and test FPGA designs for industrial welding applications.
• Create "bare metal" system monitoring applications for small scale RISC processors.
• Implement robust high-speed custom communication protocols with DC balancing and CRC.
• Maintain legacy code and port to new platforms as needed.

Qualifications:

• B.S in Electronic Engineering or equivalent in work experience; Masters preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in FPGA design and RISC application development.
• Experience implementing microprocessor and FPGA-based real-time feedback loops for power supply control.
• Proficiency in Verilog hardware design language.
• Proficiency with Intel (Altera) FPGA design tools.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• Must be organized, dependable, reliable, and accountable for their work.
• Ability to work independently and self-motivated.

Desired Skills (Not Required):

• Familiarity with the Cyclone product family.
• Experience with Efinix Semiconductor products and tools.
• Experience with Linux driver development.
• Experience creating and modifying Linux board support packages for embedded platforms.
• Experience with the Raspberry Pi or similar system-on-module platforms.
• Experience with Altium or OrCAD schematic capture software.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, including the use of Node.js to interface with hardware.

Salary info:

$48 - $62 / hr
