Warehouse Supporter

Job Summary:
The qualified individual will be responsible for all shipping and receiving functions at this facility including but not limited to preparation of certified organic citrus and vegetables for shipping, evaluation of product received and shipped, and management of information related to the shipping of produce.

Experience Required:
Five+ years experience in shipping and inventory control in the produce industry, highly developed skills in the areas of organization, communication (both English and Spanish preferred), problem resolution and customer service skills, and working knowledge of Famous software preferred.

Receiving:

  • Verify accuracy of received products by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, temperature and lot numbers with information on invoice or bill of lading and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage.
  • Unload trucks based upon appointment times and prioritize trucks at docs longer than 60 minutes.
  • Operates forklifts and pallet jacks to move, convey, or hoist shipments from receiving platform to correct temperature controlled cold room, storage or work area.
  • As directed by Warehouse Manager, participates in the safe and efficient flow of incoming product to ensure timely availability of product for order pulling
  • Provide accurate accounting of received product
  • Be familiar with storage requirements, product sensitivity, and handling needs
  • Report product quality issues to Quality Control.
  • Communicates with sales staff, repack department, quality control to make sure shipments and receipts of produce are accurate and timely.

Shipping

  • Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, temperature and lot numbers with information on invoice or bill of lading and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage.
  • Prints bills of lading and other paperwork related to shipments.
  • Communicates with sales staff, repack department, quality control to make sure shipments and receipts of produce are accurate and timely.
  • Pull customer orders in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
  • Complete pick slips accurately and neatly.
  • Build proper (safe and sturdy) pallets and load product to meet truck completion deadlines.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stamps identifying shipping information on cartons when labeling information is missing.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Ensuring the order pulling is being done properly using F.I.F.O.

Inventory

  • Move inventory to various locations manually and operating mechanical equipment, including fork lift, pallet jack, and handcart.
  • Maintains inventory of both, raw product inventory and shipping materials and supplies.
  • Sort and store items according to established procedures.
  • Take product inventory every night.
  • Decide which cooler(s) is best for new or presently stocked products based upon your: observations, professional data, and feedback from co-workers.
  • Arranging the warehouse and organizing the coolers to maximize efficiencies.
  • Taking inventory of all packaging materials every month.
  • Transfer product and material handling to the repack line.
  • Maintain daily cycle counts in the packing area.
  • Communicate to the warehouse manager any pertinent information.
  • Produce trash reports that document and address significant waste instances to warehouse management.

Other Duties:

  • May assist repack department as needed.
  • Maintain warehouse in a green, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Successfully complete training on the safe use of material handling equipment and consistently operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Report equipment and facilities issues to Warehouse Manager and Director of Warehouse Operations
  • Attend and participate in Warehouse crew meetings
  • Ability to comply with the Company's Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Abide by the Company's Employee Handbook and food safety policies, standards of conduct and related policies & procedures.
