Job Description


Seeking to hire a GL and Reporting Lead supporting NASA Financial Support Services (NFSS) contract in Huntsville, AL.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounting and reconciliation support for NASA budget PPBE activities
  • Provide specific support for NASA PPBE data collection processes, including interface with OCIO Stakeholders, NASA OCFO, Mission Support Directorate, and IT budget team activities
  • Support strategic IT budget planning process including the organization and independent analysis of budget submissions and presentations for internal and external customers
  • Proactively identify potential financial challenges and provide recommendations on how to best resolve issue
  • Apply federal accounting and USSGL standards to NASA budget execution processes and procedures
  • Execution tasks include supporting funds distribution, reviewing phasing plans, developing reporting templates, conducting forecast analysis, and writing narrative content and variance explanations to support financial data and analysis
  • Track budgetary changes by fiscal year and ensure that current and prior year obligation and cost metrics are followed
  • Support ongoing resource management life-cycle activities, including data gathering, analysis and reporting
  • Effort includes the development and documentation of required processes and the use of customized tools to ensure the efficient planning, analysis and timely reporting of resources expended for projects and program execution
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of budget management processes
  • Prepare and present monthly budget performance and financial reports for OCIO stakeholders
  • Run reports from NASA financial Systems, collect data and compile information from various sources into presentations
  • Support and facilitate budgetary/ programmatic status meetings with OCIO leadership and other stakeholders as applicable
  • Proactively follow up on action items and track progress to completion with various owners
  • Support additional budget surge activities, based on new funding requirements, reorganizations, or requests from CIO
  • Support ad hoc requests, data calls and actions from groups external to the OICO Organization, such as the Mission Directorate and CFO
  • Experience with budgeting, accounting, and reporting systems in a federal environment
  • Experience with SAP, and associated data bases
  • Compliance with NASA regulations and procedural requirements

Experience & Skills:

  • Seven to nine years in business administration or closely related field
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office Suite of products is required
  • Prior experience in supervisory or managerial role with at least one direct report
  • Experience supporting large scale Acquisition Programs, Research and Development Programs, and/ or Operations/ Support Programs
  • Basic understanding of NASA or Federal budgeting and resource management processes
  • Experience with USSGL and related financial reporting (SF133, CFOA Statements, etc)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required together with highly proficient analytical skills
  • Commitment to exceptional client service and professionalism while working at the client site


  • BA/ BS degree in Business Administration or closely related field of study

Clearance: Public Trust Clearance Required
