Sr. Engineering Manager - Electrical Systems Annapolis Junction, MD Opportunity: We are looking for a strong Sr. Engineering Manager or Electrical Engineer to support a major client with facilities across the US.
In this role, you will lead Electrical projects and collaborate with other engineers performing facility assessments and designs. Our Engineers interact with other disciplines and clients, and perform facilities and building assessments, energy audits and provide consultation back to the client. Facility/Buildings may include general office buildings, large data centers, employee support buildings, labs or research facilities.
Parsons is seeking an Electrical Engineer to review design packages and analyze improvements to electrical systems and components for data centers and mission critical facilities. The selected candidate will assure conformance to the intent of the client's facilities and campus infrastructure improvement programs, industry design standards, and applicable electrical standards and codes. In this capacity, you will perform design reviews, evaluate constructability, and make recommendations to increase energy efficiencies, help resolve technical issues, and manage information generated through the design and construction phases of multiple and concurrent projects.
You will interface with technical peers, clients, third-party design professionals, construction contractors, and other stakeholders. Monitor the quality and progress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied. Works closely with Project Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance or productivity.
Keys to your success will be your expertise in medium and low voltage electrical systems including substations and transformers; experience with SCADA systems; background in testing, data center design, facility modernization engineering energy efficiency, security and sustainability of electrical systems. Prefer knowledge of commissioning supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. Travel, if required, is typically scheduled in advance and travel may be a day to two weeks, depending on the project.
Must be comfortable performing client presentations and electrical walk-downs on site. Education/Requirements: -BS in Electrical Engineering preferred or a 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) -20+ years of related work experience, including significant managerial experience of a large group of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel. -Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society may be required.
Must have electrical engineering experience with broad based electrical knowledge and experience. Prefer experience withdata centers, power, generator systems, uninterruptable power supply, medium voltage distribution projects. Prefer candidates with experience in design and construction of electrical systems.
Knowledge of design components and track record of selecting energy and cost efficient electrical systems and equipment for secure facilities. Must be able to plan and execute multiple technical tasks concurrently. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
