Maintenance Technician


Mission: Parkview Services creates inclusive housing solutions to promote stability, opportunity, and community.


Parkview Services is non-profit organization located in Shoreline, Washington.  Our extensive programs help struggling homeowners prevent unnecessary foreclosures and providing affordable housing to individuals with developmental disabilities.  We are searching for an experienced Maintenance Technician who is proficient in a wide variety of skilled and unskilled tasks relating to the repair and upkeep of a growing rental portfolio of 65+ single family scattered site homes and condos located in King and Snohomish Counties. This is a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

·       Electrical- perform minor electrical repairs such as: outlets, switches and light fixtures.

·       Plumbing- perform routine plumbing repairs such as: clear drain lines, replace broken pipes-worn out washers- gaskets and or faucets- and toilet fill valves.

·       Carpentry- perform routine carpentry repair such as: kitchen cabinets, window screens, door locks, and plaster/drywall.

·       Mechanical- perform minor mechanical repair such as: repair/diagnose all major appliances, operate needed power tools.

·       Other unskilled tasks such as: interior and exterior painting, floor tile installation and repair, interior cleaning.

·       Inventory- identifying, cataloging, and procuring necessary materials used in maintenance operations

·       Basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance.

·       Recognize when specialized knowledge is needed.

·       On Call Availability: the maintenance technician must be available to field and respond to emergency calls from tenants nights and weekends. 


Required Qualifications

·       Excellent inter-personal skills are required.  Our renters are people with Developmental Disabilities and the Maintenance Technician must have patience and a desire to serve the community.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required; meticulous attention to detail.

·       Flexibility: Due to the nature of the portfolio you may have to pause from one job to travel to another property with an emergency repair issue.

·       Thorough knowledge of home maintenance and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in home maintenance and/or construction/remodeling.

·       Familiarity with current local building codes.

·       Valid Washington State Driver’s License.

·       Reliable transportation and ability to travel by vehicle for up to 8 hours per day.

Criminal Background

·       This position will have frequent encounters with vulnerable adults.  Therefore, all applicants must be eligible for this position pursuant to RCW 43.43.842. 


Education and/or Experience

·       High school diploma or equivalent.

·       Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
