Medical Assistant

Optometry practice seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our eye care team! You will perform administrative and clinical assignments to keep the optometry facility running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner- return calls, texts, and emails
• Perform pre-testing, special testing, and routine clinical tasks to support doctor
• Communicate with patients and insurance companies for scheduling and billing
• Cross train in all departments

• Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
• Familiarity with scheduling and medical billing procedures
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, organized, dependable, and punctual person to join our eye care team! Strong communication skills and computer skills are a must. Full-time position in a fast-paced, service oriented practice. Responsibilities are multi-faceted and include scheduling, pre-testing, special testing & procedures, billing, insurance, ordering, optical sales, and dispensing eyeglasses. We are team oriented and are very selective in our hiring process.

• Applicant should have at least 5 years of full-time work experience, preferably in the medical field or in the customer service industry.
• We will train!
• The office is located in Dallas- Preston Center- near Preston Road and Northwest Hwy / Highland Park-University Park (zip 75225).
• Work hours are Monday-Thursday 8:45am-6:00pm , Friday 8:45-4pm, and one Saturday per month 8:30am-1:30pm.
• Pay rate is $16-18/hr (offer depends on prior medical work experience).
