JOB DESCRIPTION: The Engineering/Maintenance Manager will manage all the maintenance activities to ensure maximum operational potential is realized for the entire plant operation. This includes all functions in the areas of Maintenance Business Management, Maintenance Materials Inventory (MRO), Manufacturing Process Reliability and Equipment Reliability, e.g. departmental budgets, computerized maintenance management systems, preventive/predictive and corrective maintenance programs. The Engineering/Maintenance Manager will also be responsible for Technical Skills Management of electrical, electronics, controls programming, mechanical systems (process equipment, packaging equipment), waste treatment, stockroom, building and grounds, utilities systems including but not limited to boiler, compressed air and refrigeration. Candidate will assist with the development, coordination and execution of maintenance related capital budget items. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: · Directs maintenance personnel to ensure that all systems operate at their highest capability to meet required production schedules, quality, costs and schedule priorities · Continuously improves equipment reliability, maintenance, and processing methods to reduce cost and avoid loss of production as a result of equipment malfunction or down time. · Determines equipment capabilities, safety and operational condition. · Develops preventative maintenance procedures that are cost effective, efficient and increases the life cycle of the equipment. · Coordinates, arranges, and supervises, or provides for the completion of corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with company operating procedures, practices and financial considerations. · Provides maintenance training to include the, completion of routine maintenance tasks specific to facility, equipment operations and support. Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. · Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. · Prepares requisitions to determine the number of spare parts to be kept in inventory. · Maintains departmental operating budget at a positive variance by effectively utilizing the workforce and equipment. · Assist with safety training, monthly safety meetings, member of safety committee, and provides technical support for all safety projects. · Evaluates long-term needs in relation to major projects and factory improvements. · Ensures that equipment and facility are maintained in a safe, operable condition and/or arrange for replacement/upgrades. Establishes procedures and contacts to ensure timely repairs of equipment. · Develops department employee relations by continued communication of all information affecting them. · Analyzes production downtime reports, determines opportunities, and initiates action plan to increase efficiencies · Partner with business leaders on implementation of process improvement (Six Sigma / Lean) including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitation. · Supervision of Maintenance staff including but not limited to performance management and employee development, etc · Communicate with outside agencies i.e. contractors, equipment suppliers, technical consultants and vendors. · Lead, Mentor and Coach Maintenance Team Leaders and technicians through the development of personal and technical development plans · Responsible for asset management including maximizing utilization, replacement, upgrading, maintenance, and tracking utilizing · Develop and maximize the use of preventative and predictive maintenance programs to drive plant performance · Develop and instill a culture of teamwork, safety, quality, innovation, and customer service within the maintenance area. · Partner with Production, Contract Manufacturing, Shipping, and Sanitation to build joint ownership of the facility and equipment · Drive the implementation of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodology and the tools that support this initiative · Initiate world class maintenance strategies and innovative actions through a Maintenance Excellence Program · Participate and/or facilitate various teams designed to improve our quality and effectiveness of maintenance and production · Manage & Execute Capital and Plant projects. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related Technical field is strongly preferred · A minimum of 5-7 years of industrial maintenance management experience in food manufacturing required along with coaching/leading people successfully · Proficient in the Lean/Six Sigma process · Proficient in Microsoft Office · Experience in Robotics is a plus · Experience in implementing and maintaining Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Systems is strongly preferred. · Proficient in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems including refrigeration, boiler and compressed air systems is a plus · Must have knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) in a Pharmaceutical environment. · Experience using, troubleshooting and programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is a plus · Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills · Demonstrated project management skills in a team environment · Knowledge in regulatory compliance (OSHA, USDA, EPA) · Familiarity in drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics PanTheryx/APS BioGroup is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to sex, race, color, religion, ethnic or national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, pregnancy, leave status, disability, veteran status, genetic information and/or any other characteristic or status protected by national, federal, state or local law Company Description: About PCH PanTheryx, Inc. acquired APS BioGroup located in Phoenix, Arizona and La Belle Associates, Inc located in Bellingham, Washington to form PanTheryx Colostrum Holdings (PCH).
