service that their competitors can't.This position is for a design or applications engineer who not only has the technical chops to work on building envelope projects but can also talk comfortably with others in the industry, give presentations when necesarry, and support the sales team as needed. Basically an "Engineer with personality". If you love structural design and engineering BUT do not want to stare at a screen 8 hours a day this is the job for you.

Not only will you work and design building envelop projects you will meet and talk with experts, contractors, and mfgs from all corners of the industry.QualificationsBS Civil/Structural or Architectural EngineeringEIT/FE or about to get.PE License is a bonus2+ years experience in Building envelope, Architectural engineering, PEMB, Commercial building design, or other verticle structural design.Candidates with any of the following will be given higher considerationKnowledge of various building enclosure systems, materials, and productsExperience in new construction building envelope design and technical analysis of existing buildingsProject Engineering/Management and/or Field Investigation experiencePresentation skills/experience to large architectural, engineering, or construction groups.ResponsibilitiesIn your design/application engineer role you will : Review project proposals and plans ands read specifications and drawings and provide sound engineering recommendations for cladding and roofing systems. Review material orders from customers & contractors as well as internal shop drawings for accuracy and completeness. Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.

Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems. Knowledge of ASTM, TAS and other roofing and cladding Testing methods and terminologies. Knowledge of Building Codes such as IBC, ASCE, IECC, AISI, and other pertaining codes.

Provides customers engineering solutions as related to Local and Federal Codes, such as IBC, ASCE, TAS, etcIn your Sales Engineer role you will: Serve as a Pre-Sales Support Engineer for the sales team. Provide pre-sales support on projects as specified by Sales Director. Provide pre-sales support on feasibility and profitability of custom product development.

Recommend additional add-on solutions and programs benefiting Client/Customer and generating additional revenue. Be the "Product Expert" and work to achieve advanced proficiency on all metal product(s) so you are able to deliver technical presentations and product demos. Create documents and compile project bids working with Sales/Pre-Sales support and other departments.

Support authoring and review of sales proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
