Job Description

The Request-for-proposal (RFP) Writer is responsible for all aspects of assigned RFP’s and managing the RFP process through to completion. The RFP Writer supports the organization’s processes for developing high quality proposal responses. To be successful in this role, the RFP Writer must have strong technical writing skills, along with the ability to meet tight deadlines, be committed to teamwork and have strong attention to detail.

Duties and responsibilities

As a request-For-Proposal (RFP) writer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Work with the sales, marketing and operations department to solicit, review and write responses to RFP’s.
  • Plan, Organize, write, manage and coordinate responses of RFP’s.
  • Work with the Sales team to build out all phases of the proposal process in response to RFP’s and other documents.
  • Identify innovative ways for improving the efficiency of the proposal process.
  • Manage RFP analysis, development and review of execution strategy, identification of proposal requirements, writing, proofing and production (printing & shipping).
  • Possess complete knowledge of company, product and industry.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and provide frequent communication to internal stakeholders
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure deadline and requirements for each RFP are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in technical writing
  • 2-3 years’ experience in proposal writing with a healthcare company preferred
  • Experience using RFP templates
  • Well organized; ability to multitask and possess excellent time management skills
  • Able to manage multiple RFP responses at one time
  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to work under tight timelines
  • Ability to take ownership, prioritize and efficiently complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, both in writing and in project completion
  • Creative writing skills with the ability to craft a story from a strategy created by the sales leader
