Job Description

Summary: The Plant Controller will report directly to the Region Controller and indirectly / functionally to the Plant Manager.

The Controller will provide the leadership and direction for managing the operation’s financial position, financial interpretation, asset management, procurement activity, and internal control environment. Directs the development of annual operating plans, budgets, monthly forecasts, cost reduction initiatives/recommendations and overall profitability.


Job Responsibilities:

• Successfully completes monthly fast-paced closing cycles to properly reflect the financial position of the plant - profit & loss, capital base and cash from operations.

• Directs and oversees monthly physical inventories.

• Provides financial analysis support/guidance to all line managers, Plant Manager and GM.

• Directs and completes the planning, forecasting and budgeting processes of the operation.

• Monitors the financial policies, practices and procedures of the operation.

• Ensures the necessary internal controls are designed and operating effectively to safeguard the Company's Assets and adheres to Hydro's financial management policies.

• Directs the activities and provides leadership to the procurement employees of the operation, ensuring all Hydro Values are inherent in daily performance of responsibilities.

• Manage capital spending requests, including calculating payback and developing sound business cases to present to management requesting capital funds.

• Provides financial and manufacturing analysis of both a recurring and ad-hoc nature to management outside of the Operations.

• Provide product line profitability analysis used in the up-front quoting process and updated throughout the product life cycle.


Education and Work Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance. CMA or CPA and/or master’s a plus

• 10 years of accounting experience, with a focus in manufacturing / cost accounting and managerial experience

• Self-starter individual with an inherent intellectual curiosity to understand how things work and translate to the financial statements

• Operate with a “sense of urgency” to meet tight routine financial deadlines and prioritize non-routine financial projects as part of the role

• System experience: SAP, Microsoft AX Dynamics Hyperion, Ultimate Payroll, full ERP capabilities
