IT Finance Manager/Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Finance Manager/Consultant will act as a key link between the Finance and Technology organizations within Pacific Life. The position will also provide strategic financial support, budgeting & forecasting, chargeback, and investment analysis for Corporate IT. This highly motivated leader will creatively blend their financial skillset and business acumen in order to successfully partner with leadership to set and execute the strategic vision.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and drive the development of financial plans and forecasts for Corporate IT. Create and maintain detailed monthly forecasting models with a high degree of accuracy - cash, capex, opex, allocations, and chargebacks
• Provide meaningful and insightful variance explanations to Plan, Quarterly and Monthly forecasts with a sound foundation in performance drivers
• Create ad hoc and trending analyses to identify potential risks and opportunities. Present findings and recommendation with supporting data to business partners and senior management
• Collaborate across technology service providers to collect relevant data, build processes, and develop models to implement Total Cost of Ownership and consumption based allocations to drive transparency and decision making
• Perform scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and comparative benchmarking analysis for various capital projects ranging from $500K to $50M in size. Prepare ROI reports and cost benefit case studies. Present financial plans to senior management.
• Maintain and Enhance Technology Business Management (TBM) tool working with internal and external customers to develop and calculate KPIs
• Serve as business partner and financial control subject matter expert with senior management.
• Prepare and lead financial reviews with senior management.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of purchasing, accounts payable, accruals, and project accounting
• Continually collaborate with, while effectively challenging, business partners to achieve strong results
• Continually seek ways to improve team processes. Maintain strong process controls and risk management practices
• Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes

FACTORS FOR SUCCESS

• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is a plus
• 9 or more years work experience in technology/business management, financial analysis, or related with demonstrated progression of responsibility
• Proven history of fostering teamwork and collaboration across multiple functional areas with competing priorities
• Effectively handle ambiguity in all aspects of work, including business direction and strategy
• Experience in process management and leading teams (direct, indirect, and consultants)
• Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills required. Must have demonstrable ability to successfully interact with internal and external business partners at senior levels in a global environment
• A high level of initiative and critical thinking to formulate business issues into analytical problems and devise actionable solutions
• Must have strong MS-Office skills (Excel, VBA, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Manages large amount of raw data.
• Knowledge of IT Financial Management (ITFM) and Technology Business Management (TBM) concepts preferred; experience implementing Apptio or another TBM tool at an organization of similar size and complexity preferred
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, relational database management system experience, and technical skills related to data manipulation/interpretation preferred
• Understanding of technology service management preferred#LI-JB1
