Job Description

**2nd and 3rd shift position


Works with variable supervision to set up and operate any inspection equipment or gauging located at Pace. Supports production operators by routinely auditing production processes and performing various inspections. Maintains a positive attitude towards problem solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Performs tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, chemical or physical characteristics.

- Records test data, and writes reports to validate conformance to or deviations from existing standards.

- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to their immediate supervisor.

- Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests for measurements on materials, parts or products.

- Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.

- Performs gauging studies.

- Performs in-process and startup inspections.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two (2) years experience in quality assurance inspection.


Ability to read, write and understand the English language in both written and verbal form. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to perform and understand shop math including metric conversions.


Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Must be able to read and interpret blue prints to ANSI standards and customer specifications. Capable of using and reading measuring tools such as calipers, ID.- OD. mics and indicators accurately.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
